GRE test prep duration

Our GRE test prep program is designed to assist a student systematically prepare for the GRE over 6 weeks.  Depending on a student’s personal situation and needs, this program can be condensed into a four week program or spread out over 10 weeks.  

Our GRE test prep consists of seven components: 

  1. Online GRE test prep sessions

  2. Homework assignments

  3. Practice tests

  4. Extra help sessions

  5. GRE Strategy sessions

  6. Verbal booster

  7. GRE reading booster

Online GRE test prep sessions

The foundation of our GRE program consists of our online classroom sessions.  In these sessions we will teach you all you need to know about the GRE, types of GRE questions and techniques to tackle different types of GRE questions.  We will also apply these techniques to questions from past GRE tests from the official ETS publication so that you see and learn the application of these techniques.

GRE test prep homework assignments

After each GRE test prep session, we will assign homework that will give you an opportunity to apply the techniques you learnt in the GRE test prep sessions on questions from past GRE tests.  These assignments are a critical component of our GRE program as they reinforce the GRE techniques you have learnt during the GRE test prep sessions.

GRE Practice tests

At various points in our GRE program, we will assign you GRE practice tests to complete.  We have scanned all available resources and have selected GRE practice tests from various sources for different purposes.  These tests will allow you to gauge your performance in different areas of the test and fine tune your GRE test prep strategy.

Extra GRE help sessions

Our faculty plans the extra help sessions on different topics based on student feedback and need. Please reach out to your faculty so they are aware of your needs. You will be informed about these help sessions and are encouraged to take advantage of these session.

GRE test strategy sessions

Developing a GRE test strategy is critical for a good GRE score.  Our faculty will plan a GRE test strategy session to teach you the various approaches to the GRE.  This is intended to help you develop your own personalized GRE test strategy which is key for a good GRE score.

We use the Practicing to take the GRE General Test (10th ed) published by the ETS. This contains questions from past GRE tests on which we will apply the techniques we learn in class. You will also deal with questions from this book as homework.

GRE Verbal booster

A good vocabulary is critical for a good GRE score.  We have selected words that may appear in the GRE and will provide you with daily GRE vocabulary booster emails meant to improve your vocabulary.  These emails will be combined with other vocabulary building techniques that will be taught in the online GRE test prep sessions.

GRE reading comprehension assignments

At appropriate stages during the GRE test prep program, we will assign you reading practice assignments. This will comprise of various publicly available reading materials and books and is meant to build your reading speed, accuracy and comprehension. Don't expect this to include your favorite novel as the GRE test questions are often boring scientific or historical passages!
